Movement With a Purpose: Queen Form Fitness at Clayton County’s Youth Gun Violence Awareness Walk
One of the things I envisioned when creating Queen Form Fitness & Wellness was building a brand that could go beyond the gym. Fitness is about movement, but wellness is also about community, connection, confidence, and creating spaces where people can come together.
I had the opportunity to put that vision into action when Queen Form Fitness was invited to lead the official warm-up for Clayton County’s Youth Gun Violence Awareness Walk, sponsored by Commissioner [NAME].
This event carried a much bigger purpose than simply getting people moving. Families, young people, community leaders, and supporters came together to bring awareness to youth gun violence and stand behind a message of safety, hope, and positive change.
Preparing the Community to Move
My role was to prepare participants of all ages for the walk with an energetic but accessible warm-up.
We started by taking a moment to breathe and get everyone focused before gradually getting the body moving. The warm-up included light marching, shoulder rolls, arm circles, torso rotations, heel raises, dynamic movements, and standing stretches designed to increase circulation, loosen the muscles, and get everyone ready to walk.
But standing in front of that crowd, I realized that I wasn’t simply leading exercises.
I was helping set the energy for the day.
There is something powerful about seeing an entire community move together—different ages, different fitness levels, and different backgrounds—all participating in the same moment and supporting the same cause.
Fitness Can Serve a Bigger Purpose
Experiences like this continue to shape what I want Queen Form Fitness to represent.
Yes, I am a personal trainer. Yes, I love creating workouts, boot camps, and fitness programs. But my vision for Queen Form Fitness has always been bigger than individual workouts.
I want to use fitness and wellness as tools to bring people together.
Whether I’m working with an individual, a school, a recreation center, a community organization, or an entire crowd at an awareness walk, the goal remains the same: meet people where they are and create an opportunity for them to move forward.
That is what “Where You Are Is Enough, Let’s Work From There” means to me.
Building Queen Form Fitness in the Community
Being trusted to lead the warm-up for such a meaningful Clayton County event was another reminder that Queen Form Fitness belongs in community spaces.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to an event centered around our youth and their future. I walked away from the experience even more motivated to continue developing wellness experiences that support not only physical health, but also connection, encouragement, and community engagement.
Sometimes fitness looks like a hard workout.
Sometimes it looks like stretching.
And sometimes, it looks like hundreds of people standing together, moving together, and preparing to walk toward something bigger than themselves.
That is wellness, too.
